Jagran Correspondent, Darbhanga:

The ongoing dispute regarding the construction of AIIMS in Darbhanga, Bihar is not taking the name of stopping. Bihar government minister Sanjay Kumar Jha said that Darbhanga AIIMS needs to be kept away from politics on the tussle to get credit for AIIMS. He urged the Center to take the credit, but let Darbhanga AIIMS be built.

Minister Sanjay Kumar Jha said that with the construction of AIIMS at the allotted site, the development of Darbhanga will spread to that area as well. The look (face) of the city will change. A new hospital of 2500 beds will also be built in the Darbhanga Medical College (DMCH) hospital.

Said- stubborn center

He said that the Bihar government has given land in Shobhan for the construction of AIIMS. Money has been given for filling the soil, but the central government is adamant.

He asked do you want to close DMCH? The Bihar government got the tender for earth filling done in eight parts, so that the work could be done quickly.

Shobhan was told the best place for AIIMS construction

I gave NOC for giving soil from Khiroi river. In Darbhanga city, people built houses by filling ponds and rivers, so why can’t AIIMS be built in Shobhan by filling mud.

If AIIMS is built in Shobhan, people coming from Madhubani, Saharsa, Supaul or other districts will be more comfortable. There is an airport nearby, so outside doctors will also be able to come and go easily.

Minister also spoke at Darbhanga airport

He said that out of all the airport flight schemes opened in the whole country, 90 percent failed and among those which were successful, Darbhanga is number one. The Udaan scheme was started so that even a chappal wearer can travel by air.

The Bihar government charges 28 percent tax on fuel at Patna airport, while one percent tax is charged from Darbhanga airport, but the flight fare from here is the highest. Now Durga Puja is about to come, at that time it will go higher.

The runway of Darbhanga airport is one and a half times bigger than that of Patna. Bihar government gave 24 acres of land in November, but arrangements for night landing have not been made yet. There is a need to pay attention to this.
