Child Goes Missing from Sadar Hospital in Katihar

A six-year-old child named Mohd. Ismail has gone missing from the delivery ward of Sadar Hospital in Katihar. The child, who is the son of Firoza Khatun, disappeared under mysterious circumstances while playing with his sister. Despite extensive searching by relatives, the child’s whereabouts remain unknown. The incident has been reported to the city police, but the CCTV cameras installed in the hospital premises have been removed, hindering the investigation.

Relatives Seek Help from Police

The child’s father, Shahbul Alam, had admitted his wife to the delivery ward for childbirth. However, due to the newborn’s worsening condition, Alam went to a private nursing home to get the baby admitted. Meanwhile, Ismail was left in the delivery ward with his maternal grandparents. When Alam returned, they discovered that the child was missing. The family is distraught and has requested the police to assist in finding their missing child.

CCTV Cameras Unavailable for Investigation

The maternal grandparents of the child confirmed that Ismail was playing with his sister in the delivery ward premises before disappearing. Unfortunately, all the CCTV cameras in the hospital are defunct, making it difficult to gather any clues regarding the child’s disappearance. The hospital administration is cooperating with the family and trying to assist in finding the missing child.

Postmortem Facility Now Available in Barsoi

In other news, the people of Barsoi will no longer have to travel to Sadar Hospital to conduct postmortems. A postmortem house has been established in Barsoi Sub-Divisional Hospital, providing the necessary facilities. This development comes after the District Magistrate’s instructions to make postmortem services more accessible to the residents of Barsoi. Previously, in the event of an accident, bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
