Bihar: Education servants who do not join VC will get jobs! The department took action when negligence came to light

• In the VC meeting held in Gaya’s 24 block CRC building, both teachers and education workers were required to be present.
• The VC meeting discussed the number of children who should be attending school and how many were actually attending.
• It was also necessary to provide daily information about whether the children were being taken home or not to the Shiksha Sevak.

During an inspection by education department officials, it was found that 18 education servants were continuously missing from the VC meeting.

Despite repeated requests, these education servants did not attend the VC meeting.

District Education Officer Rajdev Ram stated that an order has been issued to terminate the services of the 18 education servants who neglected their work.

A copy of the order has been sent to the Education Department in Patna.

Many schools opened in Jolly and many were closed, the condition of the children remained negligible.

During Rakshabandhan, some government schools in the Rajauli block area, including the headquarters, followed the instructions of Additional Chief Secretary KK Pathak and opened, while others remained closed.

The attendance of children in the open schools was very low.

Educational department drastically cut many holidays including Rakshabandhan

The Education Department cancelled holidays on festivals such as Raksha Bandhan, Haritalika Teej Vrat, Vishwakarma Puja, Krishna Janmashtami, Bhaiya Duj, and Guru Nanak Jayanti.

Teachers are becoming increasingly resentful due to these cancellations.

Teacher present but students found missing

On Raksha Bandhan, while teachers were present in many schools after the schools were opened, the attendance of students remained very low.

In many schools, teachers did not show up, defying the instructions of the department.

What did the teachers say?

• Navlesh Kumar, headmaster of the open higher secondary school Chirola, mentioned that none of the 495 enrolled students attended school due to the Raksha Bandhan festival.
• Sudha Kumari, headmistress of Primary School Bigha, stated that none of the 64 enrolled children came to study after the schools were opened due to the Rakshabandhan festival.
• Sadanand Prasad, Principal of Upgraded Middle School Kumharua, mentioned that all four teachers were present, but none of the 560 enrolled children attended school due to the Raksha Bandhan festival.

Lock found hanging in Mangodih Gangtiya

The primary school Mangodih Gangtiya in Farka Buzurg Panchayat of Rajauli block had a lock hanging on its gate.

The headmaster and madam of the school had given leave a day before, stating that there would be a holiday on Raksha Bandhan, resulting in no children attending school.

Other schools, such as Farka Buzurg Panchayat’s primary school Gagan Buzurg and upgraded middle school Hathonchak, were also found to be locked with no teachers or children present.

Primary school Chaphel in Artery Panchayat and schools located at Chatkari, Jhalakdiha, and Saphi in remote Jangli Panchayat Savaiya Tand were not opened.

Action will be taken if the school is closed

Rajauli Block Education Officer Kumud Narayan inspected the schools on Rakshabandhan and found that many schools were open but had very few children in attendance.

As a fair is held on Raksha Bandhan at Rajauli Lomas Rishi hill, children had gone there instead of attending school.

The principals of the closed schools, including primary school Karbala Nagar, will be given an explanation, and further action will be taken if a satisfactory response is not provided.
