Seizure of Vehicles Used in Liquor Smuggling to be Auctioned in Bhabua

Vehicles used in liquor smuggling have been seized from various locations in Bhabua (Kaimur) and will now be auctioned. The Product Department has announced the date and place for the auction.

The auction of these vehicles, including two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and trucks, will take place on September 7 and 8. The auction for vehicles seized in Durgavati, Mohaniya, Kudra, Nuaon, Kuchila OP, and Kudhani OP will be held on September 7 at the Excise Department office. The vehicles seized in Superintendent, Bhabhua, Sonhan, Belawn, Chand, Chainpur, Bhagwanpur, and Adhaura police stations will be auctioned on September 8.

Process of Vehicle Auction

  • The participants in the auction need to deposit the earnest money for the vehicles at the office.
  • The vehicle will be given to the highest bidder in the auction, based on payment.
  • The earnest money of the successful bidder will be adjusted in the total auction amount.
  • The deposits of all participants, except the top three highest bidders, will be refunded.

72-Hour Deposit Deadline for Successful Bidders

The successful bidders in the auction will have to deposit the full auction amount at the Superintendent’s office within 72 hours. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the earnest money and cancellation of the auction for the respective vehicle.

236 Arrested in August for Liquor Smuggling

In August, the police in Bhabua district have been actively investigating liquor smuggling and cracking down on its sale. As a result, a total of 236 individuals were arrested in liquor-related cases.

The police have seized 22 two-wheelers, 12 four-wheelers, and one container. Additionally, they have recovered 1306.6 liters of country liquor and 7137.43 liters of English liquor, amounting to a total of 8444.03 liters of liquor. A total of 63 incidents have been reported.

SP Lalit Mohan Sharma stated that the police are committed to creating a drug-free society and are continuously working to prevent liquor smuggling and sales. They have instructed all police stations to ensure the success of prohibition efforts and apprehend those involved in the sale and consumption of intoxicants.
