The body of the deceased woman was sent to the Sadar Hospital for postmortem examination.
Rajvardhan Kumar, the Station House Officer of Lakshmipur, stated that the woman was crushed to death by a speeding truck loaded with sand. The truck has been seized, and a thorough investigation is underway. The driver and the owner of the truck will be identified, and necessary action will be taken against them.

जमुई, बिहार में सोमवार की सुबह एक बुजुर्ग महिला को बालू लदे ट्रक ने कुचल दिया। इस हादसे में उसकी मौके पर ही मौत हो गई। वहीं, घटना के बाद मौके से भाग रहे ट्रक को स्थानीय लोगों ने खदेड़कर पकड़ लिया। लेकिन चालक वाहन छोड़कर फरार हो गया। घटना लक्ष्मीपुर थाना क्षेत्र के जमुई-मुंगेर मुख्य मार्ग स्थित लक्ष्मीपुर बाजार के पास की है। वहीं, आक्रोशित लोगों ने लक्ष्मीपुर थाना क्षेत्र के जमुई-मुंगेर मुख्य मार्ग स्थित लक्ष्मीपुर बाजार के पास सड़क जाम कर दिया। इससे आने-जाने वाले वाहनों की लंबी कतार लग गई। मृतक महिला की पहचान लक्ष्मीपुर निवासी महेश साह की 65 वर्षीय पत्नी रानी देवी के रूप में की गई है। घटना को लेकर लक्ष्मीपुर थानाध्यक्ष राजवर्धन कुमार ने बताया कि एक तेज रफ्तार बालू लदे ट्रक ने महिला को कुचल दिया था, जिससे उसकी मौके पर ही मौत हो गई थी। ट्रक को जब्त कर लिया गया है। पूरे मामले की जांच की जा रही है। ट्रक चालक और उसके मालिक की पहचान कर उसके खिलाफ प्राथमिकी दर्ज कर कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
