पुजारी संजय मिश्रा, जो मंदिर में सेवा कर रहे हैं, कई पुस्तकों से बताते हैं कि पहले के दौर में इस मंदिर के पीछे बने प्राचीन कुआंए से तीन प्रकार का पानी निकलता था। एक ओर मिठा पानी उपलब्ध था, दूसरी ओर खारा पानी निकलता था। जबकि मध्य से सामान्य पानी निकलता था।
यदि किसी दास्तान पर विश्वास किया जाए तो इस मंदिर में सुबह सवेरे किसी अदृश्य शक्ति की पूजा होती है। स्थानीय लोग मानते हैं कि इस मंदिर में स्थित शिवलिंग में चमत्कारी शक्तियाँ निवास करती हैं। इसलिए, भक्तों द्वारा मांगी जाने वाली इच्छाएं यहां निश्चित रूप से पूरी होती हैं। तीज त्योहार के दौरान भी इस मंदिर में विशेष भीड़ देखी जाती है। पटना के अलावा, अन्य जिलों के लोग भी सप्तर्षि महादेव मंदिर की यात्रा के लिए यहां आते हैं।
