A fire broke out in a shop in the main market of MH Nagar, Hasanpura in Siwan. The fire quickly spread throughout the market before the fire brigade team was able to control it. Two staff members of the fire brigade team, three police officers, and 10 others were trapped in the fire while attempting to control it. They were immediately taken to the local hospital’s burn ward by locals. The police stated that the condition of six individuals is serious and they have been referred to a higher center for better treatment.

The incident occurred when some children were bursting firecrackers in the Sheila Market, just in front of the MH Nagar police station. The sparks from the firecrackers fell into a diesel/petrol shop, leading to a massive fire within seconds. The incident took place around 10 PM. The entire market was completely burnt down in the fire, causing panic in the area. The locals tried to control the fire but were unsuccessful. The fire brigade team then arrived and worked to control the fire.

After intense efforts for about four hours, the fire brigade team managed to gain control over the fire. In this fire incident, two members of the fire brigade team, three police officers, and around a dozen locals were injured. The identities of the injured individuals have not been established yet. The SDPO of Siwan stated that the fire was caused by the firecrackers, and an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
