The former Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Ranjit Ram, has arrived in Bettiah to interrogate three former ward councilors regarding the infamous toilet scam. However, during the questioning, the officer maintained distance from the media and conducted the investigation in a confidential manner.

The toilet scam case involves the Bettiah Municipal Corporation, previously known as the Bettiah Nagar Parishad. In 2014, it was alleged that around 48 lakh rupees were embezzled in the corporation. The scandal pertains to the construction of public toilets, where funds were allegedly misused.

Ranjit Ram’s visit and questioning of the three ward councilors are seen as a significant step towards unraveling the truth behind the scam. The investigation aims to determine the extent of corruption and identify those responsible for the misappropriation of funds. The officer’s discreet approach suggests the seriousness and sensitivity of the case.

The toilet scam has been a highly controversial issue in Bettiah, causing public outrage and tarnishing the reputation of the municipal corporation. With the investigation underway, the hope is that justice will prevail and those responsible for the financial irregularities will be held accountable.
