Efforts by the state government to improve land-related issues have not been successful, as nearly 45 lakh 13 thousand 355 (38.27%) applications for cancellations have been rejected by Thursday. Meanwhile, approximately 5.83% or around six lakh 88 thousand 459 applications for cancellations are pending at various levels of processing. The majority of these cases were rejected due to incorrect documents provided by applicants. However, the Revenue and Land Reforms Department has taken action in response to complaints about pending cancellations, directing all land improvement officials to conduct inspections in regions with more than 75% rejected cases. Instructions were also given to register complaints and establish a centralized call center for resolution.

According to sources, a total of one crore 17 lakh 90 thousand 579 applications for cancellations were received in the state by Thursday. Out of these, 65 lakh 88 thousand 765 (55.88%) applications were rejected and cancelled. Despite the efforts being made by the state government to ensure transparency and expedite cancellations, people are still facing inconvenience.

The highest number of pending applications for cancellations is in the Champaran region of West Champaran, with approximately 9,729 cases. The second highest number is in Fulwari Sharif region of Patna with 8,901 pending applications. The Dumar region of Sitamarhi has 8,864 pending applications and the Patna Sadar region has 8,040 pending applications.

In these regions, the number of cancellations is as follows:

3. Patna Sadar: 37,866
4. Patna Fulwari Sharif: 34,557
5. Araria: 34,132
6. Purnia East: 32,003
7. Purnia Banmankhi: 30,997
8. Araria Raniganj: 30,798
9. Darbhanga: 29,618
10. Champaran Chanpatia: 27,581
