Noida News: Great news for commuters traveling from Greater Noida to Noida and Delhi, as their journey is about to become much easier. This is because a new connecting metro corridor is being planned between Sector-142 metro station on Aqua Line and Botanical Garden metro station on Magenta Line. The detailed project report (DPR) has been prepared and submitted to the authorities for approval. Let’s find out who will benefit from the metro expansion.
What will happen after DPR approval?
After receiving approval from Noida Authority and Greater Noida Authority, the DPR will be presented in the next board meeting of the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC). Lokes M, Managing Director of NMRC, stated that the DPR will be sent to the Uttar Pradesh government and the central government for approval. The DPR has been prepared by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on behalf of NMRC. NMRC operates the Aqua Line between Noida and Greater Noida.
Which stations will be connected?
According to the DPR, the proposed line will have a total length of 11.56 kilometers. The construction cost is estimated to be Rs 2254.35 crore. The metro line will feature eight new elevated stations. The Botanical Garden, Noida Sector 44, Noida Office, Sector 97, Sector 105, Sector 108, Sector 93, Panchsheel Balak Inter College, and Sector 142 stations are already present on this line.
Benefit for Delhi-Greater Noida residents
Lokes M mentioned that this project will provide connectivity for residents of both Noida and Greater Noida. It will connect them to the Delhi Metro network. The Botanical Garden station will serve as an interchange station between the Aqua Line of NMRC and the Magenta and Blue Lines of DMRC. Lokes M also stated that this project will be beneficial for all commuters traveling between Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi.
