Jharkhand Weather: Impact of Cyclone Michung on Jharkhand as well, weather department issues alert
The weather department has issued an alert for Jharkhand as clouds covered the skies throughout the day on Monday. On Tuesday, there is a possibility of rain in various parts of Jharkhand, including the eastern Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega, and Saraikela-Kharsawan districts in South Jharkhand, as well as Ranchi and other districts in central Jharkhand. The Ranchi weather department has issued a yellow alert.
Furthermore, there are chances of rain in many parts of Jharkhand on Wednesday and Thursday. Due to the cyclone, humid air is entering the eastern part of Jharkhand. Cyclone Michung is expected to hit the coastal areas of Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. The speed of the cyclone is expected to be around 90-100 km per hour. From now until December 8, there will be clouds in the sky in many parts of Jharkhand and a rise in minimum temperature. Therefore, there will be some warmth, and after December 8, the weather in Jharkhand will clear up. After that, from December 9 onwards, the minimum temperature will drop and the cold will intensify.
On the other hand, on Monday, clouds covered the sky in various parts of Jharkhand, including Ranchi. There was light drizzling as well. In the past 24 hours, the weather in the state remained dry.
Cancellation of Trains due to Cyclone
Several trains operated by the Ranchi Rail Division will be affected due to the cyclone. This includes the Coimbatore-Barauni Weekly Special Train via Ranchi on December 6, the Alleppey-Dhanbad Express on December 6 and 7, and the Sir M. Visvesvaraya Bengaluru-Hatia Express on December 6. The Ernakulam-Hatia Dhanbad Express will also be cancelled on December 6.
Cancelled Trains
Several trains were cancelled on Monday as well. This includes the Hatia-Ernakulam Dhanbad Express and the Dhanbad-Alleppey Express.
Cancellation of Flights
Due to the possibility of the cyclone, two flight services to and from Ranchi have been cancelled. This includes the Hyderabad-Ranchi-Hyderabad IndiGo flight and the Chennai-Ranchi-Chennai IndiGo flight.
