Seevan’s District Education Officer was found with cash at his residence. The Education Department officials have rarely seen such action taken against them. The team conducting surveillance at the office and residence of Mithilesh Kumar, the District Education Officer of Seevan, conducted an investigation in Patna. Startling revelations were made during the investigation regarding the officer’s assets. It has been stated by the surveillance department that the District Education Officer of Seevan owns immovable property worth crores of rupees. From morning till evening on Friday, it was revealed during the raid that he engaged in corruption and acquired illegal assets. Surprisingly, this is the same Education Officer who was honored by the Governor earlier this year in April.
Cash amounting to 14 lakhs was seized from the office and residence in Seevan. It has been stated by the surveillance department that an investigation is underway against Mithilesh Kumar, the District Education Officer of Seevan, for accumulating unaccounted wealth amounting to approximately 87,08,054 rupees. On December 8th, the search team from the Surveillance Investigation Bureau in Patna conducted a raid at Mithilesh Kumar’s office in Patna and his residence in Seevan. During the raid, a total of 2,22,500 rupees was seized from the office, while 11,85,000 rupees was seized from the residence, totaling 14 lakhs. Additionally, 2 lakhs in cash was seized during the search of the residence in Patna.
It has been revealed during the investigation that the District Education Officer has purchased five flats and seven plots of land from Patna to Noida. He has bought four flats in Greater Noida, one flat in Patna, and land in five places in Aurangabad, as well as two plots of land in Patna. The estimated value of these assets is around 2 crores. Additionally, 28,88,214 rupees were found deposited in seven bank accounts. Further action is being taken in the case.
