NCR News: A four-lane road, from the bridge over the Agra canal in front of Sector-37 in Faridabad to the Greenfield Expressway, will be constructed and a detailed project report (DPR) has been prepared. FMDEA has written a letter to the Irrigation Department of Uttar Pradesh, requesting them to prepare the DPR. This road construction project will benefit approximately 3 million residents.
According to the plan, the Irrigation Department of Uttar Pradesh will initiate the tender process for road construction in January next year if everything goes as planned. A budget of 278 crore rupees will be spent on this road. The road along the banks of the Agra canal has already been made concrete, stretching from Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj to Dig village in Faridabad district.
NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) is converting this road into a DND-KMP Expressway from Delhi to Sector-37 in Faridabad. Within the city limits, the expressway crosses the Agra canal on the Sector-37 bridge and turns towards the bypass road. A six-lane expressway will be built along the banks of the canal from Delhi to the Sector-37 bridge.
The road will have a two-meter-wide cycle track, footpath, and divider in the middle. FMDEA has proposed a 1.5-meter-wide divider. The width of the cycle track and footpath will be two meters. The total length of the road will be 20 kilometers. The residents of Greater Faridabad will benefit the most from this four-lane road.
SDO of the Irrigation Department of Uttar Pradesh, Braj Kishor, said, “I have received a letter from FMDEA requesting the preparation of DPR for the project. The department has initiated the process of obtaining the DPR from the Central Road Research Institute.”
