Upcoming All India Meeting of the India Alliance on 19th December will discuss the distribution of seats. In view of this, the Left parties in Bihar have also begun preparations for their seats. There are three active Left parties in the state. If their demand is accepted, the Left parties alone have claimed 22 out of the 40 seats in the state. Based on the ground reality, the CPI(M) has 12 MLAs in the Legislative Assembly. The CPI has two MLAs and the CPI(ML) has two MLAs. In comparison, the CPI(M) has claimed nine seats, while the CPI(ML) and CPI are claiming seats on four and nine respectively. The Left parties have their own arguments regarding their claim. The top leaders of all three Left parties will discuss the issue of seat sharing for Bihar in the meeting on the 19th. The Left parties are basing their strategy on the success of the BJP in the recent Assembly elections in five states and the fact that the Congress is alone in the field. The Left parties argue that the Congress did not give enough attention to regional parties in the five states, which led to the election results being against it. The Congress or other parties should not repeat this mistake in the Lok Sabha elections.
In the last 2019 elections, the RJD had a tie-up with the CPI(ML). It was given the Ara seat, while the CPI(ML) candidates fought on their own strength in Siwan, Jehanabad, and Karakat. Meanwhile, the CPI(M) contested the Ujiarpur seat. The CPI(ML) fielded Kanhaiya Kumar in the Begusarai seat. In addition, it had candidates in the East Champaran seat. The Left parties will demand these 22 Lok Sabha seats. The CPI(M) will propose to contest from Ujiarpur, Khagaria, Samastipur, and Maharajganj. The CPI(ML) will demand seats in Banka, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, West Champaran, East Champaran, Buxar, Nalanda, Patna Sahib, and Munger. From the side of the CPI(ML)-M, proposals have already been sent to the leaders of the Mahagathbandhan to contest on the Sevan, Ara, Karakat, Jehanabad, Patliputra, Katihar, Valmikinagar, Buxar, and Samastipur seats. Kunal, the state secretary of the CPI(ML)-M, said that there is a likely All India Alliance meeting on 19th December, after which there will be a discussion on seat sharing in Bihar. The party has started preparations for the elections on these seats. Laln Chaudhary, the state secretary of the CPI(M), said that the BJP can be defeated only by fighting the elections together. We have made our seat selections. The party has started preparations here. Ram Naresh Pandey, the state secretary of the CPI, said that our party will contest on preferred seats. In seat sharing, the party has started preparations to contest on its preferred seats. In the Mahagathbandhan meeting, we will present our complete proposal for our seats.
