Pensioners supported by Secret Ballot in English

The National Federation of Indian Railwaymen (NFIR) and the All India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF) had organized a secret ballot to garner support for the demand of the old pension scheme. This initiative was taken to bring together pensioners who were affected by the new pension scheme and to raise their voice against its implementation.

Concerns over New Pension Scheme

The old pension scheme was replaced by the new pension scheme, which caused concerns among pensioners. Many pensioners felt that the new scheme did not provide them with adequate financial security and had several drawbacks. Thus, the secret ballot aimed to highlight these concerns and gather support for reverting back to the old pension scheme.

Significance of Secret Ballot

The secret ballot played a crucial role in mobilizing pensioners and gaining support for their cause. It allowed pensioners to express their opinions anonymously, ensuring that their voices were not suppressed or influenced. This democratic approach helped in creating a collective voice for the pensioners and strengthening their demand for the restoration of the old pension scheme.

Efforts by NFIR and AIRF

The NFIR and AIRF actively organized and facilitated the secret ballot to ensure maximum participation from pensioners. They conducted awareness campaigns, held meetings, and provided necessary information to pensioners regarding the implications of the new pension scheme. Through their relentless efforts, they were able to gather support and amplify the voices of pensioners who were affected by the changes in the pension system.
