Greater Noida West: The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) is preparing to fulfill the dreams of residents living in Greater Noida West. The Managing Director of NMRC and the CEO of the Noida Authority, Dr. Lokesh M., are working at a war footing to connect Noida and Greater Noida West with metro rail service. After the previous proposal did not receive approval, a new plan has been formulated. According to the old proposal, the Sector-51 metro station was supposed to be connected to Sector-52, but now it will be connected to the Sector-61 metro station and extended to Greater Noida West. This plan will ensure faster travel time.
Improved connectivity: The Noida Metro Rail Corporation has developed a plan to ensure better connectivity. Changes are also being made to the Detailed Project Report (DPR). Previously, the proposal for the expansion of the Aqua Line involved connecting the Aqua Line metro at Noida Park V with the Blue Line metro at Sector-52 station, which would then go towards Sector-51 Greater Noida West.
Distance between stations: The distance between Sector-51 and Sector-52 metro stations is 430 meters. To facilitate the convenience of passengers, a plan was made to construct a foot overbridge between the two stations. However, covering such a long distance on foot would be inconvenient for people. The Noida Authority informed the PMO that they will connect the Sector-51 metro station of the Aqua Line and the Sector-51 metro station of the Delhi Metro through an elevator, so that the distance between the two stations does not need to be covered. It is important to note that the previous proposal did not receive approval from the PMO.
Connectivity from Sector-6: It has been announced by the NMRC on November 22, 2023, that after the revision in the project, the Central Government has asked them to submit a new DPR. Officials state that after the revised DPR and realignment, the Aqua Line metro will now be connected to the Blue Line metro at the Sector-61 metro station, extending all the way to Greater Noida West. This will reduce the distance that people have to walk.
