Accident in Samastipur: One person died and another was seriously injured in a road accident in Motipur village of Tajpur police station area. The incident occurred around 11 pm on Tuesday when a car overturned in a water-filled pothole. The driver of the car died in the accident, while a person was rescued by locals by breaking the rear window of the car. The injured person has been admitted to Tajpur Referral Hospital. The police have reached the scene and are investigating the incident.
Car overturns in Motipur village: According to the villagers, an SUV without a number plate was speeding towards Motipur village from Samastipur. During this time, the car lost control and overturned into a water-filled pothole on the roadside. The incident caused panic in the area and a crowd gathered. Locals broke the rear window of the car and rescued a person, while the driver got stuck inside. Due to this, the driver died. Later, the crowd somehow managed to pull him out. The police reached the scene with the help of the villagers and took him to Tajpur Referral Hospital. The doctor declared the driver, Navin, dead. The injured person was referred to Sadar Hospital and later to Patna for further treatment.
Villagers save lives in accident: The villagers said that after the road accident, the driver’s leg got stuck inside, causing the car to fill with water and resulting in his death. However, the person sitting in the back of the car was rescued by breaking the rear window. He was seriously injured. The villagers threw a towel and somehow managed to pull him out of the pothole. The seriously injured youth became unconscious during this time.
Police rescue car from water-filled pothole: Tajpur police station in-charge, Brij Kishor Singh, said that the police officer was sent to the scene after receiving information about the incident. The identity of the deceased youth has been established. The accident vehicle has been removed from the water-filled pothole. A case is being registered regarding the incident. The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem examination.
