Readers will not be allowed to enter the gallery during the winter session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly without a thorough check. The Ranchi SSP has issued necessary directions in this regard. Following an incident in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday where some youths jumped into the gallery and a security lapse occurred, the Ranchi police has gone into alert mode.
During the winter session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, individuals entering the gallery will not be allowed to carry any belongings. Even their shoes will be checked. Items such as bags will have to be deposited outside. Chandan Kumar Sinha, the Senior SP of Ranchi, stated that starting from December 15, no suspicious person will be allowed inside the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. The Secretariat of the Assembly has also issued necessary instructions to the police in this regard. The police have also been briefed. Protestors have been instructed to stay limited to the field near the relocated building.
Security measures have been strengthened by the police in preparation for the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly. It is estimated that the winter session of the Assembly could be chaotic. Programs for the Assembly’s siege have also been pre-determined in many cases.
A four-layer security arrangement has been made during the Assembly session. 800 soldiers, along with 15 inspectors and 7 DSP-ranked officers, will ensure security. Barricades have also been set up in several places around the Assembly.
The DSP has been instructed to patrol the area. The SSP has informed that necessary instructions have been issued to all DSPs and station house officers regarding the Assembly session. Special caution has been given to the Hatiya DSP’s area, as well as the Dhurwa, Nagri, Jagnnathpur, Doranda, and Argoda police stations. They have been instructed to regularly patrol the streets.
