Major Accident in Jamuria, West Bengal
A major accident has occurred in a factory in Jamuria, West Bengal, where a worker has died and five others have been injured. The incident took place in the Gagan Sponge Iron Factory in the Ikra Shilpa Taluk of Jamuria. The workers were trapped in the hot molten iron and one worker lost his life, while the others were severely injured. The injured have been admitted to private hospitals in Raniganj and Durgapur. The Jamuria police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
Cause of the Accident
According to reports, the accident occurred when the overflow of melted iron from the furnace used for smelting iron in the factory caused the ladle to collapse. Kishan Kesari, a worker residing in the Jamuria Bazaar area, lost his life in the incident. The shift in-charge, Dharmendra Mishra, a resident of Jamui in Bihar, Devendra Kumar Yadav from Ballia in Uttar Pradesh, Ram Ratan Ram from Siwan in Bihar, and Gambhir, a resident of Rangaganj, were severely injured. Vivek Kumar Gond was admitted to a private hospital in Rangaganj, while Pappu Yadav from Bhagalpur district in Bihar was admitted to a private hospital in Durgapur.
Demand for Investigation
Following the incident, leaders of various political parties have accused the factory management of negligence and have demanded an investigation. They have called for strict action against those responsible for the accident. The Jamuria police have started the investigation into the incident.
