As soon as the order was issued, the idol of Mahishasura placed in front of the garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) at the Shyama Mai Mandir was covered with soil. The fees collected for animal sacrifice were also removed from the donation list. The immediate action taken by the temple administration has further fueled anger among the people. Despite the ban, some devotees attempted to offer animal sacrifices, but they were denied permission by the temple authorities, leading to a heated confrontation. Eventually, the devotees resorted to offering sacrifices at the nearby Kameshwari Shyama Mandir.

बिहार राज्य धार्मिक न्यास बोर्ड द्वारा मां श्यामा परिसर में बलि प्रदान करने पर रोक लगाने के विरोध में विश्व हिंदू परिषद व बजरंग दल के नेतृत्व में बिहार राज्य धार्मिक न्यास बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष अखिलेश कुमार जैन का पुतला दहन किया गया। विश्व हिंदू परिषद् के सह जिला मंत्री राजीव प्रकाश “मधुकर” एवं आदित्य नारायण चौधरी मन्ना ने कहा कि हम सनातनी पूर्वज से चली आ रही परंपरा का निर्वहन करते है एवं यहां बलि प्रदान प्रथा पर रोक संबंधी आदेश से आहत हैं। न्यास बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष का आदेश मिलते ही श्यामा माई मंदिर में गर्भ गृह के सामने स्थापित महिषा के सामने मिट्टी डालकर ढक दिया गया है। बलि प्रदान के ली जाने वाली रकम को शुल्क तालिका से मिटा दिया गया है। लेकिन बताया जाता है कि मंदिर में बलि प्रदान रोक दिए जाने के बाद भी कुछ भक्त माता को छागर (बलि) चढ़ाने आए श्रद्धालु को मंदिर के द्वारा छागर चढ़ाने से मना कर दिया गया। इस कारण भक्तों ने काफी हो हंगामा किया लेकिन उनकी भावनाओं को किसी ने नही सुना। फिर मंदिर आये भक्तों ने बगल में अवस्थित कामेश्वरी श्यामा मंदिर में बलि प्रदान करना पड़ा। लेकिन यह घटना की सूचना सोशल मीडिया पर फैलते ही आज सनातन प्रेमी सड़क पर निकल कर न्यास बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष का पुतला दहन किया।
