Delhi-NCR residents are set to get a new railway line as the Yamuna Authority held a meeting to discuss the construction of a rapid rail line from Jewar to Noida Airport. This new line will connect Ghaziabad to Noida Airport, eliminating the need for land acquisition. The high-speed rail line will be laid along the Yamuna Expressway.
According to a report by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), the CEO of Yamuna Authority, Dr. Arunvir Singh, stated that a report is being prepared in collaboration with NCRTC to operate a rapid train from Jewar to the airport. The presentation highlighted three proposed routes, with the rapid train starting from Ghaziabad and ending at Jewar Airport.
The proposed route for the rapid train starts from Siddharth Vihar in Ghaziabad, covering a distance of 8 kilometers to Murthal, then from Murthal to Kasna covering 26 kilometers, and finally from Kasna to Jewar Airport covering 28 kilometers. The total route length will be 62 kilometers, with a 6-kilometer track in the Noida Airport area. The presentation also discussed the traffic flow on these routes, with the route starting from a 130-meter road.
The Yamuna Authority has rejected alternative options and aims to connect the route with the Yamuna Expressway, along with the Pari Chowk intersection. This new rapid rail line will provide convenient transportation for Delhi-NCR residents and enhance connectivity in the region.
