Raising Questions on Government’s Actions

Delay in Implementation of Reservation Policies

Paragraph 1: In the second session of the Jharkhand Assembly, AJSU MLA Lambodar Mahto questioned the police and their functioning. He raised concerns about the safety of women in the state, highlighting the increasing cases of crimes against women and the lack of prompt action from the police. Mahto questioned the effectiveness of extensive policing when the police fail to ensure the safety of women.

Paragraph 2: Mahto further criticized the police, stating that they are more focused on thefts like coal, iron, and sand, rather than ensuring the safety of women. He demanded answers from the government regarding when justice will be served to women in the state. Mahto emphasized that the police are lagging behind in addressing crimes against women, and their actions do not align with the extensive policing measures in place.

Paragraph 3: Mahto also questioned the government’s activities, particularly the actions of the Chief Minister. He pointed out that while the Chief Minister is seen attending various events and distributing Bolero vehicles, these actions are limited to photo opportunities. Mahto highlighted the disparity between the government’s promises and the lack of tangible benefits for the people. He criticized the government for focusing more on publicity rather than addressing the needs of the public.

Paragraph 4: Additionally, Mahto raised concerns about the delay in implementing the local domicile policy based on the 1932 land record. He questioned when this policy, which has been discussed for a year, will actually be implemented. Mahto also mentioned the issue of reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and proposed conducting a caste-based census in Jharkhand, similar to Bihar. He criticized the government for making promises without delivering on them.
