Big news related to the new variant of coronavirus has emerged from the capital of Bihar, Patna. After a long interval, two infected patients have been identified in Patna with the coronavirus. One patient had returned from Kerala while the other had traveled from Assam to Bihar. The Health Department has confirmed this and has advised both patients to stay in home isolation.
Confirmation of Coronavirus in Patna
The Secretary of the Health Department and Executive Director of the Health Committee, Sanjay Kumar Singh, informed on Thursday that out of the two patients confirmed with the coronavirus, one patient’s sample was tested at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna, while the other patient’s test was conducted at the ESIC Hospital in Bihar.
Details of the Infected Patients
According to Sanjay Singh, one infected person, approximately 29 years old, is a resident of Gardanibagh. After experiencing symptoms of cold and cough, the patient had given his sample at the Gardanibagh Hospital. After the test, it was confirmed that he had contracted the coronavirus. This person had recently returned from Kerala. The family members of this patient are also being tested after the confirmation of the virus. The second patient is originally from Banka and had returned from Assam. He had gone to the ESIC Hospital in Bihar for a sinus operation, where his COVID test confirmed the presence of the virus. The Health Department has urged people to use masks and sanitizers due to the increasing spread of the coronavirus.
