Begusarai police have released 8 photographs of 5 criminals involved in the Ratan Mandir jewelry case. The police claim to have identified all the criminals involved in the incident. They have also announced a reward of ₹50,000 for anyone providing information. The Superintendent of Police, Yogendra Kumar, has suspended three policemen from the Nagar Thana, Ravi Kumar, Raju Paswan, and Amardeep Kumar, for their negligence in the case.

The incident involved the loot of jewelry worth one crore rupees in just 21 minutes. The Superintendent of Police stated that if the police had conducted a patrol, the criminals could have been caught. However, due to the lack of patrolling, the criminals managed to escape. It should be noted that on Thursday afternoon, five criminals on two bikes looted jewelry worth around one crore rupees from the Ratan Mandir jewelry shop on G.D. College Road. During the incident, they also shot and injured a staff member who resisted and raised an alarm. The criminals fled on their bikes with the stolen goods, while the Begusarai police remained helpless.

In protest against this incident, the Begusarai Jewelers Association announced the closure of their shops on Friday and handed over the keys to the Superintendent of Police. On the other hand, the district has been witnessing a series of criminal incidents, including the murder of a police officer and a robbery at a jewelry shop in Vastu Vihar. This has intensified the political situation in the city. Amar Kumar Amar, a leader of the opposition party BJP, has held the government responsible for the increasing crime rate in Begusarai.
