The Tejas Rajdhani Express, a weekly service, will connect Agartala and Anand Vihar Terminal, passing through Bhagalpur. This introduction of the Rajdhani Express is a dream come true for many, though there is still anticipation for modern trains like the Vande Bharat. According to railway sources, feasibility studies for this have been conducted.
Booking Status and Details
Booking for the Agartala-Anand Vihar Terminal Tejas Rajdhani Express started 120 days in advance. As of today, the 16th of January has Waiting 5 in three AC, Waiting 2 in two AC, and Waiting 4 in one AC. Similar booking statuses are reported for subsequent dates.
Dynamic Fare Slab and Premium Tatkal
The Tejas Rajdhani Express will include a Dynamic Fare Slab along with Tatkal and Premium Tatkal options. Compared to the regular Rajdhani Express, the base fare for this train is 5% higher. In the Malda rail division, the train will stop at Malda, Bhagalpur, and Jamalpur stations.
Official Statement
Vikas Chaubey, DRM, Malda Rail Division, expressed satisfaction with fulfilling the longstanding demand for a Rajdhani in Bhagalpur. He mentioned that while bookings are being made, there is no official information yet on the operation of Vande Bharat or Vande Metro trains.
Time Table
The train departs from Anand Vihar Terminal at 7:50 PM on Wednesdays, reaching Patna at 7:55 AM, Jamalpur at 11:35 AM, Bhagalpur at 12:35 PM, and finally Agartala at 3:40 PM on the third day.
Future Plans for Vande Bharat
There are ongoing efforts to introduce three Vande Metro trains in the Bhagalpur rail sector, including Bhagalpur-Deoghar, Malda-Jamalpur, and Bhagalpur-Howrah routes, along with a Vande Bharat train between Malda-Patna. These trains are expected to run six days a week. However, the officials are awaiting information on the allocation of rakes.
