Vidyapati Dham temple is located 38 kilometers south of Samastipur district headquarters and 8 kilometers west of Bachhwara block in Begusarai district. This place holds a special significance in Bihar as a sacred place. It is where the famous Maithili, Sanskrit, and Avadhi poet Kokil Vidyapati’s tomb is located. It was at his invitation that Goddess Ganga herself arrived at this place, merging with his remains on Kartik Shukla Trayodashi.

Ram Pukar Giri, the priest of the Vidyapati Dham temple in Vidhyapati Nagar block of Samastipur district, mentions that every year, devotees come to the temple on the occasion of the New Year to offer prayers and perform rituals for Lord Bhole, and then they go to Prem Vihar Park in Bocha village for a picnic. It is expected that this year too, a large number of devotees will come to seek the blessings of Lord Bhole and enjoy a picnic at Prem Vihar Park. The priest appeals to the devotees to visit Lord Shiva’s temple on the first day of the year and perform the puja according to the rituals, as it is believed that Lord Shiva will remove all their difficulties and fulfill their wishes.
