In Begusarai, the rampage of criminals continues. On Tuesday night, the criminals entered a house and made a retired engineer and his wife hostage, looting jewelry and money worth eight lakhs. Not only that, the thieves also damaged the CCTV and took away the DVR with them.
The incident took place in the Mansurchak Thana area of Birganj village. This area is located on the border of Samastipur and Begusarai districts. It is said that the robbers looted goods worth more than fifty lakhs. The criminals first broke the Godrej lock and stole all the gold jewelry kept inside. The family members of the victims have informed the Mansurchak police about the incident. The police are investigating the entire case.
The family members stated that the retired engineer, Rampukar, and his wife were sleeping in the house. At that time, around six armed criminals entered the house. They tied up Rampukar Mahato and his wife at gunpoint and looted the house.
SP Yogendra Kumar informed that under the Mansurchak Thana, Birganj area, an incident of robbery was carried out by four people at a house at gunpoint. As soon as the information was received, the police arrived at the scene with the police force and are conducting an investigation. No injuries have been reported, but the stolen jewelry and cash have been taken. The DVR has also been taken. SDPO Teghra is present at the scene. Approximately eight lakh worth of goods have been taken. The Samastipur border is one kilometer away. Gangs from Samastipur district are suspected. The nearby police station is Bibhutipur, and coordination is being established to find the culprits.
