Approval granted for DPR of Noida Sector-142 to Botanical Garden Metro Line

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the metro line from Noida Sector-142 to Sector-38 Botanical Garden has been approved. The approval was granted during a board meeting of the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) on Wednesday. The line will feature eight elevated metro stations. The DPR will now be presented at a board meeting of the Noida Authority for further approval before being sent to the government.

Project Details and Cost

The 38th board meeting of NMRC took place on Wednesday in the office located in Sector-29 Ganga Shopping Complex. The total length of the route is 11.56 km and the estimated cost of operating the line is INR 2,254.35 crore. The total cost will be borne 20% by the central government and 80% by the Uttar Pradesh government, with the Noida Authority covering the entire expense on behalf of the state government. Each station is expected to cost approximately INR 20 crore.

Expected Benefits

Officials stated that the project will provide better connectivity for all passengers traveling from Noida-Greater Noida to Delhi. The metro line will provide excellent multimodal integration. The DPR of the line has currently been approved in the NMRC board meeting. In the coming days, it will be presented for approval in the Noida Authority board meeting, after which it will be sent to the government. The next step will be to send the DPR for approval to the central government. Officials estimate that the process will be completed in the next eight to ten months, with work expected to begin on this route soon.

Station Locations and Future Plans

According to the plan, apart from the Botanical Garden and Sector-44 metro stations, all other six stations will be built on the sector road near the expressway. A foot over bridge will also be constructed to connect the other side of the expressway with the expressway and service road. The six stations to be built near the service road of the expressway will have underpasses in front or nearby so that people living on the other side of the expressway can easily reach the station via vehicles.
