Maruti Launches New Jimny to Rival Thar in the Indian Market

Maruti, one of the most popular car manufacturers in India, has launched the Maruti Jimny New to compete in the affordable segment, providing a modern option with superior design compared to other cars in this price range. The Maruti Jimny New offers a modern interior design that is expected to draw customers with its impressive mileage and other features.

Competition with Thar

In the Indian market, the Maruti Jimny New is set to directly compete with Thar, which is readily available in the budget luggage range. Based on records, both cars have significant off-roading capabilities, setting them apart from each other. However, this does not imply that the Maruti Jimny New is superior to the Thar, but rather that there is competition between the two cars.

Maruti Jimny New Features

When it comes to features, Maruti has added a five-slot vertical grill, round LED headlights with a washer, bumper-mounted fog lamps, a rugged body with better off-roading capabilities, and five-spoke 15-inch alloy wheels. The car also has broad wheel arches and an extra wheel on the tailgate. Additionally, the Maruti Jimny New comes with an infotainment system, a rectangular black dashboard, round AC vents, steering-mounted controls, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The Maruti Jimny New is powered by a 1.5-liter K15B gasoline engine, which generates 103bhp and 134Nm of torque, and is paired with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. With this powerful engine, the car has been launched in the Indian market by the company at a price of around Rs 12.74 lakh.
