Bus and truck drivers in Bihar went on strike, causing a lot of inconvenience for passengers. The state witnessed chaos among drivers. Meanwhile, protestors in Kaimur clashed with the police, resulting in two to three policemen getting injured. Following this, the police arrested ten people and promised action against the culprits.
Jawans Clash with Protestors in Hajipur
Jawans in Hajipur confronted protestors and aimed rifles at them. The police took this action because the drivers had become aggressive. There were also instances of violence with the Railway Police. The impact of the strike was seen in Gopalganj, Chhapra, Bhagalpur, Vaishali, Patna, Purnia, Jehanabad, and other districts. People faced a lot of inconvenience due to the disruption in public transport services. They also had trouble getting petrol at fuel stations and had to pay higher prices for vegetables due to the strike.
Nationwide Strike by Truck Association in Gopalganj
The nationwide strike by the Truck Association had an impact in Gopalganj as well. The association members staged a protest and blocked NH-27, causing a traffic jam. Truck drivers protested against the new hit and run law, and warned of future demonstrations. The jam affected NH-27 and NH-531 near Banjari Mod of the police station area, and the drivers expressed their opposition to the new law.
