Police Officer Commits Suicide in Patna
In a shocking incident, a police officer in Patna, the capital of Bihar, committed suicide by shooting himself. The incident took place in the Airport Thana area, where the officer, Rashmi Ranjan, resided. As soon as the information was received, the police team immediately reached the spot and admitted him to a private hospital in a serious condition.
Officer’s Background and Request for Better Treatment
Rashmi Ranjan is a serving officer in the Patna Police Force and has been assigned to court security. As soon as the incident came to light, SSP Rajeev Mishra of Patna reached Paras Hospital and requested the doctors to provide the best possible treatment for the officer. According to DSP Kotwali, Krishna Murari, the family members informed the Patna police that Rashmi Ranjan had been under a lot of stress for the past 10-15 days.
Reasons Behind the Incident
It is reported that Rashmi Ranjan is a resident of Aurangabad. He had been facing mental distress due to a case in which he was named in Aurangabad. According to the doctors, the officer’s condition is critical. Currently, no suicide note has been found in his room. The police are thoroughly investigating all aspects of the incident. The Patna police have also informed his relatives at their ancestral home about the incident.
