Bihar is currently experiencing a severe cold wave, with temperatures continuously dropping in several districts. This is affecting daily life, including school children who are facing difficulties due to the increasing cold. In response to the dense fog, frost, and cold wave, the Purnia Divisional Commissioner has issued orders to change the timings of government schools in Purnia, Katihar, Araria, and Kishanganj districts. Separate timings have been given for classes 1 to 8 and classes 9 to 12.
In order to cope with the increasing cold, the Bihar government has decided to change the timings of teaching in all government schools. According to the released letter, teaching in all government schools will now take place from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This decision has been made in light of the harsh winter conditions.
The issued letter states that all government schools in the Purnia Division will continue their teaching activities according to their respective classes until January 31, 2024. For classes 1 to 8, the schools will operate from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm, while for classes 9 to 12, the timings will be from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. Special classes for mission Daksh (classes 3 to 8) and special classes for classes 9 to 12 will also be mandatory during the designated time period. This decision aims to ensure that students complete their syllabus within the specified time frame.
