When his dwelling was demolished during the anti-encroachment drive, he started living in Kameshwar Yadav’s house. He had been serving Kameshwar Yadav for years, and their bond was so strong that he considered himself no less than a family member. Rajendra was deeply distraught, wondering who he would serve now and who would think about him.
Kameshwar Yadav’s Funeral Procession in Bhagalpur
A large crowd of supporters accompanied the funeral procession of Kameshwar Yadav in Bhagalpur. Chanting slogans of “Kameshwar Yadav Amar Rahe,” they proceeded towards the Ganga Ghat. During the procession, Kameshwar Yadav learned wrestling moves from the wrestling arena of Chand Mishra and was recognized as a Kushti wrestler. Local residents believed that he had the identity of a wrestler in the area. Apart from being a silk trader, his home also had a handloom. He was also involved in farming and agriculture. He had been involved in religious and social activities for 40 years and had a considerable number of supporters.
Kameshwar Yadav’s Political Journey in Bhagalpur
Due to his popularity among a specific community and ideology, Kameshwar Yadav was chosen as a candidate by the Hindu Mahasabha from the Nathnagar Assembly constituency. He came close to victory in the elections. It is said that the presence of a candidate from the same community in the electoral field led to a division of votes, resulting in Kameshwar Yadav’s defeat. Despite this setback, Kameshwar Yadav continued to promote religious activities for four decades. He played a significant role in the construction of several temples in Bhagalpur. When his funeral procession took place on Thursday, people felt that they would never again have to wait for Kameshwar Yadav for idol immersion during the Kali Pratima Visarjan procession. It was only after his arrival that the procession would move forward.
