Government Simplifies Pension Rules
The government has made the pension rules more user-friendly and efficient than before. Female government employees can now nominate their children for pension. A female central government employee or pensioner can nominate her child as a pension beneficiary in case of a divorce, dowry, or domestic violence case filed against her husband. The government has made amendments in the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules and has created a new arrangement.
Changed Pension Rules for Women
A new report by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) in 2022 found that in 2022, ‘cruelty by husband or his relatives’ was involved in 31.4 percent or over 1.40 lakh cases of crimes against women. In addition, 13,479 cases were registered under the Dowry Prohibition Act.
