JEERC University honored Sharad Vivek Sagar, a well-known social entrepreneur from Bihar and an Indian youth icon, with a Doctorate degree on Saturday, January 6th in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The honor was bestowed upon him during the 7th Convocation Ceremony of JEERC University, where Chairman O.P. Agarwal presented him with the Doctorate degree. The university announced the presence of distinguished guests, educators, undergraduate students, and parents, stating that they were “honoring a great individual who symbolizes hard work, vision, and transformative leadership in his life’s journey. With great pride and honor, JEERC University, Jaipur confers upon Sharad Vivek Sagar the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters ‘Honoris Causa’.”
The university selected two individuals for this prestigious honor. Alongside Vivek Sagar, Dr. Raghunath Anant Mashelkar, a renowned scientist and Padma Vibhushan awardee, was also honored with a Doctorate degree. Dr. Mashelkar praised Sagar in his convocation speech, stating, “This is my 48th honorary doctorate, but I have never heard a more inspiring speech than Sharad Sagar’s.” After receiving the honorary degree, Dr. Mashelkar posted on social media, “It was an honor to share the stage with the dynamic and inspiring speaker Sharad Sagar at the Convocation Ceremony of JEERC University. His powerful speech, filled with intellectual leadership, was something I hadn’t heard in a long time.”
Sharad Sagar, hailing from Bihar, is a globally recognized social entrepreneur, renowned thinker, eloquent speaker, and Indian youth icon. He established the national organization DexIgnite at the age of 16 in Bihar’s small towns and villages. The organization has trained youth who have received scholarships worth over ₹175 crores from top universities worldwide. Sagar has represented India as a youth ambassador on global platforms, won national and international awards and fellowships, achieved success in various competitions, and initiated several social projects. In 2021, he became the first Indian to be elected as the Student Union President at Harvard Graduate School of Education. In 2022, the editorial team of Dainik Jagran awarded Sagar the Youth Icon of India award to redefine education and leadership for millions of Indian youth. In 2023, Femina listed Sagar in its “India’s 60 Most Admired Men” alongside eminent actors, athletes, influential personalities, and business leaders such as Mukesh Ambani, Virat Kohli, Nita Ambani, Anand Mahindra, and Shahrukh Khan.
शरद विवेक सागर को जे.ई.सी.आर.सी विश्वविद्यालय ने मानद डॉक्टरेट की उपाधि से सम्मानित किया है। इसे जयपुर में आयोजित दीक्षांत समारोह में प्रदान किया गया है। शरद विवेक सागर बिहार के प्रसिद्ध सामाजिक उद्यमी हैं और भारतीय युवा आइकॉन के रूप में मान्यता प्राप्त हैं। विश्वविद्यालय ने डॉ. रघुनाथ अनंत माशेलकर को भी डॉक्टरेट की उपाधि से सम्मानित किया है। शरद सागर ने अपने जीवन में विभिन्न कार्यों में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है और उन्होंने अनेक पुरस्कार प्राप्त किए हैं। उन्होंने अपने नवाचारी और सोशल कार्यों के लिए भी प्रशंसा प्राप्त की है।
