One seat will be vacant due to the retirement of Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Sahu and one from BJP due to the retirement of MP Samir Oraon. The six-year term of both MPs will end on May 3. The discussion has started about which formula should be adopted to field candidates by the India alliance, and what strategy will be followed by the BJP-AJSU party’s NDA folder.
It is being discussed that Jharkhand can field Jhamumo for the Congress seat. Sarfaraz Ahmad, the MLA who resigned from the Gandey seat a few days ago, or his son, could be sent to the Rajya Sabha. However, no one is prepared to say anything officially on this. It is worth mentioning that in December 2019, the Congress-RJD Mahagathbandhan government was formed in Jharkhand under the leadership of Hemant Soren. Since then, there have been two elections for the Rajya Sabha and both times the seat went to Jhamumo. In March 2020, Jhamumo President Shibu Soren and for the second time in 2022, Mahua Maji were sent to the Rajya Sabha.
The Congress quota seat in Jharkhand is vacant this time. In this case, it is said that while the natural claim of the Congress is valid, the decision will be made unanimously in the spirit of the alliance. It is also noteworthy that Jhamumo now has 29 seats in the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha. To win one seat in the Rajya Sabha, the candidate will need 28 votes. Rakesh Sinha, the spokesperson of the Congress, said that the decision will be made at the central level of the party.
2024 के चुनावी साल का आगाज हो चुका है और इसके बाद झारखंड में विधानसभा चुनाव के बीच राज्यसभा के दो सीटों के लिए भी चुनाव होगा। इससे पहले झारखंड में चुनाव होने के चलते कांग्रेस से राज्यसभा सांसद धीरज साहू और भाजपा से सांसद समीर उरांव की सीटें खाली हो जाएगी। चर्चा हो रही है कि कांग्रेस की सीट पर झामुमो दावेदारी कर सकती है और इस पर अभी तक कोई आधिकारिक विज्ञापन नहीं हुआ है। इससे पहले झारखंड में कांग्रेस-राजद महागठबंधन की सरकार बनी थी और उसके बाद से दो बार सीटें झामुमो के नाम रखी गई हैं। इस बार कांग्रेस कोटे की सीट खाली हो रही है और गठबंधन धर्म में फैसला किया जाएगा।
