Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar handed over appointment letters to 96,823 teachers recruited through the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Saturday. The event took place at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, where the Chief Minister personally handed over appointment letters to several newly recruited teachers. Similar programs were organized in other districts as well, where new teachers were given their appointment letters. During the event, education department officials also gave instructions to the teachers, advising them not to wear jeans or t-shirts to school and to maintain distance from political activities.

In Bhagalpur, 1962 teachers received their appointment letters under the second phase of teacher recruitment on Saturday. Teachers from classes 6 to 10 were included in this list. The teachers were overjoyed as they held their appointment letters in their hands. The District Magistrate, Subrat Sen, who was the chief guest of the event, emphasized the importance of their responsibilities and urged them to shape the future of government school children. He also mentioned the plan to make government schools model schools. Several administrative officials and education department officials were present at the program.

During the appointment letter distribution in Bhagalpur, Sanjay Kumar, the District Education Officer, warned the teachers not to come to school wearing jeans and t-shirts. He advised them to only come in formal dress and mentioned that action would be taken against those who do not comply with the rules. He also urged the teachers to focus on providing quality education in their respective schools and to avoid getting involved in political activities or forming unions. The education department’s guidelines stated that any violation of these rules would result in disciplinary action against the teachers.

In the appointment letters, 15% of the teachers were from other states. Teachers from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and other states were also excited to receive their appointment letters at the Sandis Compound. They expressed their happiness and gratitude towards the Bihar government for this opportunity. These teachers mentioned that things have changed in Bihar and the environment is not as intimidating as before. They thanked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his efforts and acknowledged the increased responsibility that comes with being a teacher.
