Angry relatives created chaos by blocking the main road in Jehanabad, Bihar, after a pregnant woman died during treatment at a nursing home. The relatives accused the doctors of negligence. They placed the body on NH-83 in Patna and caused a major traffic jam. The doctors and staff of the clinic fled the scene. The incident occurred near Unta Mod in the Nagar police station area.
According to reports, Ranjan Kumar, a resident of Salemapur village in Kinjar Thana, Arwal district, admitted his pregnant wife Shilpi Devi to the nursing home near Unta Mod on Saturday morning. The relatives claim that the negligence of the doctors and nursing home staff caused the deterioration of the patient’s condition. The doctor called for an ambulance to transfer the patient to PMCH, but she died on the way.
Angry relatives placed the body on the road and blocked NH-83 for hours. This caused a long queue of vehicles. The relatives stated that the patient was admitted this morning, but due to the negligence of the doctor and staff, she died untimely.
Upon receiving information about the road blockage, the police arrived at the scene and convinced the agitated crowd to clear the jam. The Town Inspector, Nikhil Kumar, stated that the jam was cleared after persuading the people. No written complaint has been filed by the affected individuals yet. Once a complaint is filed, a preliminary investigation will be conducted. Currently, the police are investigating the entire case.
