Police have arrested two cyber criminals who were hacking Facebook pages. The investigation revealed that the hackers were hijacking Facebook pages and claiming ownership. They would then go live on the page and post their own videos. By hacking the account numbers that receive viewer membership fees, they were able to profit from it. These suspects have been involved in this activity for the past three to four years and were earning up to 1.5 lakh rupees per month. They were using IP addresses from Karachi and Islamabad in Pakistan.

The identified culprits are Rohit Dhakad and Prakash Dhakad, residents of Shrinagar village in the Bengu police station area of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The cyber hackers had hacked a news channel’s Facebook page. The cyber DSP, Jyoti Shankar, received a complaint on January 7th that a news channel’s Facebook page had been hacked. A preliminary investigation was initiated at the cyber police station, which revealed that a fishing malware was used to hack the page. The hackers’ location was identified through further investigation. Their images were found, and it was revealed that they were using IP addresses from Pakistan. They were subsequently apprehended.

The hackers were involved in hacking a news channel’s Facebook page and then recovering it to reveal the actual owner. They would hack the monetized page and go live on it, claiming ownership and posting their own videos. By hacking the account number that receives viewer membership fees, they would benefit from it. Both suspects have been engaged in this activity for the past three to four years.

The cyber DSP, Jyoti Shankar, stated that three mobile phones were seized from the suspects, which revealed that they had engaged in numerous chats with individuals from Pakistan. Money transfers were made through USB drives. The arrested suspects admitted that they had hacked more than 50 Facebook pages, not only in India but also in different countries, with high viewer membership monetized Facebook pages being hacked. This group would hack such pages and then sell them, with payments being made in cryptocurrency to Pakistan. The news channel’s Facebook page, which was hacked, is being recovered to establish the actual owner. They would hack and sell monetized pages for 420 dollars.

नालंदा पुलिस ने दो साइबर अपराधियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। यह अपराधी फेसबुक पेज को हैक करके उसे अपनी ओनरशिप बताते थे और उस पर वीडियो डालते थे। इन अपराधियों को पिछले तीन-चार साल से इस काम में लगे हुए थे और एक माह में डेढ़ लाख रुपये कमाते थे। इन अपराधियों का यूज पाकिस्तान के करांची और इस्लामाबाद के आईपी एड्रेस से किया जाता था। नालंदा पुलिस ने उनकी पहचान की और उनके पास से तीन मोबाइल फोन भी जब्त किए हैं। इन अपराधियों ने बहुत सारे फेसबुक पेज को हैक किया है और उन्हें हैक करके 420 डॉलर में बेचा जाता था।
