South Asian Savate Boxing Championship 2024 to be held in Chandigarh
Vaishali district players selected for the Indian team

Chandigarh will host the South Asian Savate Boxing Championship 2024 from January 21 to 23. Originally scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka, the economic situation there led to India being chosen as the host for this international competition. It is good news for Vaishali district as two players from the district have been selected to showcase their talent in this championship. The State Savate Association has selected two players from Vaishali district to represent the Indian team.
In the girls’ under-17, 56 kg category, Sweety Kumari from Saitpur Rajauli village on Mahua Road has been selected. In the men’s 70 kg category for combat fight, Rohit Kumar Prajapati, son of Nares Pandit from Mohammadganj Goraul village, has been chosen. Rahul Srivastava, their coach, has been appointed as the coach of the Indian team by the National Savate Association. It is a matter of great pride to be selected for this competition.
Players who come from ordinary families have more interest in playing than studying. Sweety’s father, Bhushan Kumar Rai, works as a truck driver by profession. He drives trucks in Kolkata and manages his family with that income. He mentioned that Sweety was always more interested in sports than studies. Even though we used to discourage her, she always paid more attention to sports. My family and I are very happy that she has been selected for the Indian team in the French Boxing Championship. Meanwhile, Rohit’s parents work as pottery makers. When they found out that their son had been included in the Indian team, they were overjoyed.
चंडीगढ़ में 21 से 23 जनवरी तक साउथ एशियन सवात फ्रेंच बॉक्सिंग चैम्पियनशिप -2024 का आयोजन होने जा रहा है। इस प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन श्रीलंका में होने वाला था, लेकिन भारत को इसकी मेजबानी का मौका मिला है। वैशाली जिले के दो खिलाड़ी, स्वीटी कुमारी और रोहित कुमार प्रजापति भारतीय टीम में चयनित हुए हैं। स्वीटी के पिता ट्रक चालक हैं जबकि रोहित के माता-पिता मिट्टी के बर्तन बनाते हैं। इन खिलाड़ियों का चयन होने पर उनके परिवार को बहुत खुशी हुई है।
