Chilled Weather Causes Disruption in Patna

The cold waves in Patna have caused distress among the people, with temperatures resembling those of Shimla. Meanwhile, there is a bureaucratic cold war going on in the administration. Teachers are confused about whether to follow the orders of the Education Department or the District Magistrate.

Conflict between the Education Department and the DM

The Education Department and the District Magistrate are at odds regarding the opening of schools due to the cold weather. The DM has instructed to suspend classes up to the 8th grade, including government and private schools as well as coaching institutes, until January 23. On the other hand, the Director of Secondary Education has sent a letter to the District Education Officer, instructing to open schools from January 23. This conflicting situation has created confusion among the teachers.

Uncertainty and Possible Actions for Teachers

The President of the Bihar State Primary Teachers Association, Manoj Kumar, states that this situation has created a dilemma for the teachers. If they comply with the orders of the Education Department and allow students to come to school, they may face action under Section 144. If they do not follow the orders, they may face consequences from the department. The ownership of the decision regarding school closures remains uncertain.
