Impact of the Sun’s Winter Solstice Not Apparent in Bihar

The increasing heat from the sun is not evident in Bihar and instead, it is proving to be weaker. The fog has prevented sunlight from reaching the earth’s surface. There are indications that severe cold will continue in the state until January 26th. The cold wave, along with the fog, will be intense. However, it is possible that some sunlight may be visible during the day.

Situation of Cold Days in Southern and Western Bihar

According to official information from IMD, the situation of cold days has been observed in southern-western, south-central, and more than half of northern Bihar. The minimum temperature has remained below 10 degrees Celsius in all districts or places of the state. In six districts, the temperature has even been below 5 degrees Celsius. In Bhagalpur, the highest temperature recorded was 16.4 degrees Celsius, which is seven degrees lower than normal. Similarly, severe cold days have been recorded in districts such as Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Jehanabad, Pusa, Buxar, Jamui, and Sheikhpura. The average minimum temperature has been between 6-7 degrees Celsius.

January Recorded as the Coldest Month in the Last Decade

After Makar Sankranti, January is being considered the coldest month in the last decade.
