Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s two social media posts within one and a half hours have given a strong indication of the changing politics in the state and Nitish’s stance. After former Chief Minister and great socialist leader Karpoori Thakur was awarded the Bharat Ratna, Nitish made these two posts. In the first tweet, he expressed his happiness over Karpoori Thakur being honored with the Bharat Ratna and mentioned that they have always demanded this recognition for him. In the second post, he added a line thanking Prime Minister Modi. Political analysts see this addition as a sign of changing dynamics.
The entire Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) in India is supporting the construction of the Ram temple, which is seen as a political move by the BJP and RSS. Until two days ago, Nitish’s party, JDU, was also reacting in the same line. However, K C Tyagi, the spokesperson of JDU, said that they are not in agreement with the negative comments made by their allies of the Mahagathbandhan regarding the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) of the temple. He also mentioned that the Ram temple should not be considered as the creation of the BJP, but rather as a temple built as per the court’s orders. The question of opposition to the Pran Pratishtha does not arise.
