Braille Materials for Visually Impaired Children in Bihar
If your visually impaired child wants to study, this news is for you. Visually impaired children require Braille material for their studies, which is only available at the Braille Tool Bank located in the premises of Antarjyoti Balika Vidyalaya in Kumhrar, the only center of its kind in the state. Apart from this center, there is no availability of Braille materials for study or sports anywhere else in the state.
Different Braille and Sports Materials
The principal of the school, Rajyashri Dayal, who is in charge of the curriculum and sports materials, mentioned that she has been working in this visually impaired girls’ school since 1999. She explains that the curriculum and sports materials for visually impaired children are quite different. Here, they have access to cardboards, Braille slates, Braille pens, mathematical tools, and Braille machines, while sports materials include cricket balls, chess sets, and balls.
Purchasing Braille Materials
The Braille Tool Bank has been operating since 1986 in the premises of Antarjyoti Balika Vidyalaya, under the supervision of the Bihar Visually Impaired Council. From this bank, visually impaired individuals can purchase Braille slates, typewriters, abacuses, cricket balls, sticks, Braille papers, German slates, pocket frames, and chess sets at a very affordable price. These materials are not only available in Bihar but also in Jharkhand.
बिहार के पटना शहर में स्थित अंतरज्योति बालिका विद्यालय परिसर में ब्रेल उपकरण बैंक के माध्यम से दृष्टिबाधित बच्चों को ब्रेल लिपि की पाठ्य सामग्री और खेल सामग्री उपलब्ध हो रही है। यह संसाधन पूरे बिहार में नेत्रहीन बच्चों के लिए सुलभ है और इसके माध्यम से वे आसानी से अपनी शिक्षा में आगे बढ़ सकते हैं। इसके साथ ही, इस बैंक से दिव्यांग बच्चों के लिए खेल सामग्री भी खरीदी जा सकती है। यह सामग्री सुबह 10 बजे से शाम 5 बजे तक उपलब्ध होती है और इसके उपयोग से नेत्रहीन बच्चे अपनी पढ़ाई में सक्रिय रह सकते हैं। बिहार में नेत्रहीन बच्चों की संख्या 10 लाख से अधिक है और दिव्यांगों की संख्या 50 लाख से अधिक है। इसलिए, इस सामग्री के माध्यम से उन्हें अच्छी शिक्षा प्राप्त करने में मदद मिलेगी।
