ED has issued a letter to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren for questioning in the alleged land scam case. They have asked CM Soren to provide a date for questioning in the money laundering case on either 29th or 31st January. If not, the agency will proceed with the interrogation on their own.

ED has issued a total of nine summonses to Hemant Soren so far. The eighth summons required him to appear for questioning from 6th January to 20th January. In response, Soren asked ED to come to his residence for the questioning on 20th January. Soren had also filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the ED summonses, but it was dismissed.

The ninth summons requires Hemant Soren to appear before the ED from 27th January to 31st January. Prior to this, ED had questioned him for nearly seven hours at his residence on Saturday.

The alleged land scam in Ranchi, Jharkhand involves 7.16 acres of land in the Bajra region. So far, 14 people have been arrested in this case, including high-profile individuals such as 2011 batch IAS officer Chhavi Ranjan, Bhanu Pratap Prasad, businessmen Amit Agrawal and Vishnu Agrawal.

Despite receiving multiple summonses from ED, Hemant Soren had not appeared for questioning. Last Saturday, a team of ED officials went to his residence and questioned him for several hours.
