Neetish Kumar may resign as Bihar CM
Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar may resign by Sunday morning, according to a close source. The source, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that there is a possibility of Kumar submitting his resignation late on Saturday night but it will definitely happen by Sunday morning. These comments come at a time when there is speculation about the breaking of the Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar and the possibility of Kumar returning to the National Democratic Alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Traditional meeting before resignation
Before submitting his resignation, Nitish Kumar will hold a traditional meeting with the members of his party, according to sources. The government offices such as the Secretariat have been asked to remain open during the day on Sunday so that a new government can be formed with the support of the BJP. Kumar started his Saturday by flagging off several new fire vehicles at the Animal Veterinary College ground in the city.
Congress held responsible by BJP leader
Vinod Tawde, the BJP leader who is in charge of the party’s state unit, has held the Congress responsible for the possible breakup of the Mahagathbandhan. K.C. Tyagi, a senior JD(U) leader and spokesperson, stated in a conversation with journalists in New Delhi that the government of the Mahagathbandhan is on the verge of collapsing in Bihar and accused Congress leaders of repeatedly insulting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
