Hemant Soren, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, is being questioned in connection with a land scam involving 7.16 acres of land in the Bajra area of Ranchi. So far, 14 people, including high-profile individuals such as IAS officers Chhavi Ranjan and Bhanu Pratap Prasad, businessmen Amit Agrawal and Vishnu Agrawal, have been arrested in this case.
The difficulties for Hemant Soren are increasing. After receiving the 10th summons from the Enforcement Directorate, he suddenly left for New Delhi late on Saturday. According to a state official, there was no plan for Soren’s trip to New Delhi. The CM was busy for the next three days, with scheduled programs in Chaibasa on January 29, Palamu on January 30, and Giridih on January 31. According to another official, he went to New Delhi for legal advice.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently wrote a letter to Hemant Soren for questioning in the alleged land scam case. They have asked Soren to appear for questioning on either January 29 or January 31 regarding the money laundering case. If not, the agency will go for questioning themselves.
The ED has issued a fresh summons to Hemant Soren, the JMM leader from Jharkhand. ED officials have stated that the 10th summons was issued on Saturday, asking Soren to appear for questioning on January 29 or January 31. The ED had previously questioned Soren for seven hours on January 20 and had registered a statement. As the questioning was not completed that day, a new summons has been issued.
