Vande Bharat trains, which have been a success in India, are now being followed by the Indian Railways’ sleeper Vande Bharat trains. This is good news as the Modern Coach Factory (MCF) in Rae Bareli has prepared eight new Vande Bharat Express trains with sleeper coaches. Each train will have 16 coaches, including 11 AC 3-tier, four AC 2-tier, and one AC first-class coach. However, the number of coaches in the train can be increased up to 20-2.
Apart from the MCF in Rae Bareli, the Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala and the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai are also manufacturing coaches for the Vande Bharat trains. The Chief PRO of the Railways, R.N. Tiwari, said, “In the first phase, we will prepare two rakes for the sleeper Vande Bharat train and then the remaining rakes will be launched.” In addition to the sleeper Vande Bharat Express rake, MCF has also been assigned the task of constructing the Push-Pull train rake with AC and non-AC coach configuration by 2024.
Vande Bharat also finds mention in the budget. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made a big announcement regarding Vande Bharat during the budget presentation. On Thursday, while presenting the budget, she said that 40,000 general railway coaches will be converted into Vande Bharat standards and three major economic rail galiyara programs will be implemented. Presenting the interim budget for 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha, the Finance Minister said that three major economic rail galiyara programs will be implemented, resulting in reduced congestion in high-traffic corridors and improvements in the operation of passenger trains, increased security, and faster travel. She also said that dedicated freight corridors along with the three economic corridors will boost the GDP growth and reduce transportation costs.
भारतीय रेलवे वंदे भारत के सफलता के बाद अब वंदे भारत स्लीपर ट्रेनें भी शुरू करने की तैयारी कर रही है। यूपी के रायबरेली में स्थित मॉडर्न कोच फैक्ट्री ने स्लीपर कोच वाली 8 नई वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेस ट्रेनें तैयार की हैं। इनमें 16 कोच होंगे और ट्रेन में कोचों की संख्या 20-2 तक बढ़ाई जा सकती है। इसके अलावा रेलवे कोच फैक्ट्री और इंटीग्रल कोच फैक्ट्री भी कोच निर्माण कर रही हैं। वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने बजट में भी वंदे भारत के बारे में बड़ा ऐलान किया है। उन्होंने कहा है कि 40,000 सामान्य रेलवे डिब्बों को वंदे भारत मानकों में परिवर्तित किया जाएगा और तीन प्रमुख आर्थिक रेल गलियारा कार्यक्रम लागू किए जाएंगे।
