Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, the second phase of which is set to open in the last week of March or the beginning of April, is 95% complete. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to conduct load testing from the first week of March and trial runs from the second week. The plan is to open the expressway for traffic by May.

With the opening of these two phases, the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Kheda, Baghpat will be directly connected to the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. This will provide convenience in commuting from Eastern Delhi to Sonipat in Haryana via Baghpat, Shamli, and the Eastern border. The second phase involves the construction of a 16.60 km long expressway from Loni Border in Delhi to Kheda in Baghpat. The work of placing pillars and guardrails for the 12 km long elevated corridor has already been completed.

The road construction work is also almost complete, with some remaining work to be finished within the next 20 days. Along with the elevated corridor, the construction of the service road below has also been done. The goal is to complete approximately 2.5 km of drainage work by February.

The first phase, which is approximately 15.50 km long, starts from Akshardham and passes through Shastri Park, Gandhi Nagar, and goes up to the Uttar Pradesh border. Around 95% of this section consists of an elevated road. 85% of the elevated corridor section has been completed. The remaining work will be finished by the end of March.

The regular review of the 210 km long expressway is underway. Three packages between Ganeshpur in Saharanpur and Dehradun will also be completed by March, and they will be opened for traffic in April. However, the progress of work between the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Ganeshpur is slow. As a result, the entire expressway will have to wait until November to be ready.
