Abhinav Kumar/Darbhanga: The state of education in Bihar has not been hidden from anyone. The lack of teachers is hindering the education of students. Kolhanta Patwari Plus Two Government College in Darbhanga is the only school in the district where ICAR Agriculture is taught. The teaching of ICAR Agriculture has been going on here since 2015, with 400 students having completed their education here so far. The current session has 40 students enrolled, with 60% being female students and 40% being male students. However, the recruitment of proper ICAR Agriculture teachers has not been possible in this school.
No ICAR Agriculture teacher is present in the school, according to Principal Hemant Kumar. He states that this is the only school in the district where ICAR Agriculture is taught. The teaching of ICAR Agriculture started here in the 2015-17 session and continues till now. The recruitment of agriculture subject teachers has not been possible by the department yet. Since the creation of the portal by the Bihar School Examination Committee, 40 seats for students have been filled every year. Teacher Alok Ranjan mentioned that there is a vacancy for a teacher, but the recruitment for the agriculture teacher position in the Plus Two school has not been completed. He mentioned that he is currently working as an agriculture teacher in the secondary section and provides guidance to the students.
Due to the lack of expert teachers, there are difficulties faced. Principal Hemant Kumar mentioned that the recruitment of agriculture faculty by the department has not been completed yet. The children enrolled in the agriculture stream are being taught by science teachers. The Bihar School Examination Committee follows the same process for enrollment in this course as they do for the other 8 subjects. This is a vocational course where children can build their careers. The lack of expert teachers is causing problems. The department has been requested multiple times, but the recruitment of expert teachers has not been completed yet.
